Let me know if anything doesn’t make sense in this pattern…i’ve written it exactly how I made it but I’m sure my lefthanded weirdness means I dont do things the same as other do sometimes. I’ll try to better it if needs be… Il try to do some picture at some point too. Ok so Here goes.

Main Body – use a turtley colour. Puppy colours will not work.

Round 1
Ch 16. Sc in second chain from hook. Sc to second to last ch space. 3 sc in last ch space. Sc along other side of starting chain then sl st to first sc to join. This is the bottom of the cover.

Rounds 2 – 23 ( or until you reach the top of your device to be covered)
Ch 1, then sc round and sl st to join.
Fasten off after last round

Head

Round 1
Pick 6 stitches in the middle of the top row on one side of your main body. Sl st into the first of these stitches, ch 1 and sc into the FRONT of the next 6 stitches. Sc into the BACK of the last stitch you worked into ( you should now be on the other side of the stitches you’ve just worked into) sc x 5 into the Back of these stitches and sl st to join the round.

Round 2
Ch 1. 2 Sc inc in first stitch. Sc rest of round and sl st to join

Round 3
Ch 1. (2 sc inc, 2 sc) til end of round. Sl st join

Rounds 4 – 6
Ch 1. Sc round. Sl st to join.

Round 7
Ch 1. (2 sc dec, 2 sc) til end of round. Sl st join

Round 8
Ch 1. 2 Sc dec in first stitch. Sc rest of round and sl st to join

Round 9
Ch 1. Sl st hole closed and fasten off.

Turtle shell – use one light and one dark colour

Centre of shell (make 1 of these)

Round 1
With light colour, Make a magic ring and sc into it 6times. Sl st to join

Round 2
Ch 1. 2 sc inc in each sc for previous round. Sl st to join

Round 3
Ch 1. ( 2 sc inc, 1 sc) to end of round. Sl st to join. Fasten off

Round 4
Attach dark colour with a sl st. Ch 1. (2 sc inc, 1 sc, 1 sc) to end of round. Sl st to join. Fasten off. Put to side

Outside of shell ( make 6 of these)

Round 1
With light colour, Make a magic ring and sc into it 6times. Sl st to join

Round 2
Ch 1. 2 sc inc in each sc for previous round. Sl st to join. Fasten off

Round 4
Attach dark colour with a sl st. Ch 1. ( 2 sc inc, 1 sc) to end of round. Sl st to join. Fasten off.

Sew the 6 smaller circles around the larger centre to make up the shell. I used a sl st to attach them on the back but im sure sewing them would look just as grand. Make sure you sew the sides of the smaller circles together too. Then sew onto the back of your turtle

Turtle feet ( make 4)

Round 1
With same colour as body, Make a magic ring and sc into it 6times. Sl st to join

Round 2
Ch 1. 2 sc inc in each sc of previous round. Sl st to join

Round 3
Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc round. Sl st to join

Round 4
Ch 1. 2 sc tog round. Sl st to join. Fasten off, leaving a length of yarn that you can use to sew feet to each corner.

Assemble everything together and add eyes, tongue, hair bow, moustashe etc whatever floats your boat really i guess….
